View profileAs someone who's tried half a dozen attendance tools over the years, most of them add friction rather than remove it. Quorum is the first one where the QR check-in actually keeps up with a live lecture — students scan, I see who's present in real time, and I'm not fumbling with a spreadsheet afterward. The bigger win for me has been the coursework side: importing quiz scores and having attendance roll into the final grade blend without manual reconciliation has probably saved me a few hours a week. It also just looks like something I could hand to my department for review without having to explain it first.

Questions
What teachers ask before trying it.
- Do my students need to install anything?
- No. The code opens a web page, they type their university ID, and they are marked. Nothing to download and no account to create.
- What if a student has no phone or no data?
- You can mark them present yourself from the live session screen. Attendance stays editable afterwards, so a flat battery does not become an absence.
- Can students check in for absent friends?
- It is made difficult rather than impossible. The QR code rotates every few seconds, one device can only check in one student per session, and you can require students to be inside a set distance of the room. Anything suspicious is flagged for you to review — we would rather tell you the truth about this than promise you a system nobody can game.
- What happens to my students' data?
- It stays in your account and is never sold or shared. You can export everything at any time, and deleting a course deletes its students, sessions and records with it.
- Can I get the attendance into my faculty's own system?
- Yes. Every session, and the whole term cumulatively, exports to Excel or CSV — including on the free plan.
- What happens when the free limits run out?
- Nothing is deleted. You are asked to upgrade before you go past your plan's course or student limit, and everything already recorded stays where it is.
